my 4 month old sleeps through the night for s out 11hrs then takes a 3-4 hour nap during the day. is this too much?

No: No his sleep schedule is just fine. Get your rest while he is napping.

any tips on getting my 4 month old to nap...he is coli, but growing out of it. also what should his daily schedule be like?

4 months naps schedu: Though at 4 months most babies have developed a sleep pattern, they will sleep 7to8 hours at night may wake up to fed once, and day tme small 2to 3 naps of 30to60 minutes
but remember each infant is different and some may take a little longer to go in the pattern.

I wouldn't advise it: Infants seldom sleep > 4hrs at a time without waking at least briefly. They are capable of one period of prolonged sleep / 24hr & having a day nap that long could flip the day night pattern. Babies should get their soundest sleep when you try to get yours. I try to limit their day naps to 2hrs in the first month & 3 hours thereafter.

my 4 month old has started startling (moro reflex) during light sleep. he did this 4x during his nap.  is this normal? he just started rolling too...

Yes: The moro reflex is present at birth & persists until about 3 months when fully awake or up to 6 months in mild sleep states. Loud noises, vibrations or movements can set this off. Kids often start to roll as early as 4 m.

my 4 month old baby has silent reflux and is on losec (omeprazole)  he's a very fussy sleeper day and night he will not have more than 10 min naps few times a day?

Reflux: Reflux that is symptomatic and not responding to treatment needs to evaluated further by your physician. May need a special formula, different medication and further evaluation as well.

Maybe ear infection: If your young baby is not acting well, it is best to see your doctor. It certainly could be an ear infection that could be causing his symptoms. Ear infections are common complications of colds. It also could be he may have a bit of congestion that may improve with saline and a humidifier while teething as well. For the most accurate diagnosis & treatment, it's best to consult your doctor first.

Teething: Are you giving him anything for the discomfort at all? I usually recommend parents try frozen teething rings and infant tylenol (acetaminophen) for discomfort. The tylenol (acetaminophen) will provide a longer lasting effect than orajel.

my 16 mo old son wakes up from naps, screeming and crying for 30-40 min.  tried pain meds before nap and snack, no difference.  what is up?

Call your doc: Call your pediatrician. Your child should probably be evaluated.  Also call your doc before giving pain meds to children younger than 2... Especially for abdominal pain (call 24/7; the practice should encourage this).

what should i do if my 15 mo wakes up too early from her nap and is crying/screaming?

Wait a little: It is normal for all of us to have awakenings when we sleep.  Give her 5 minutes to see if she will settle back down.  If not, go and check on her to make sure she is alright (ex: leg not stuck in crib) and if so, try to pat and shush her (try to not pick her up) and leave again.

my 2 year old daughter keeps waking up from her naps with a little swollen and red hot to the touch ear and red check on the same side as ear? also makes her scream and cry in pain and have a low fever with it sometime for a few minutes to and hour?

: Time to take her in and have it checked out. The posted symptoms are not specific enough to provide a label. It could be a bug bit her ear lobe or she has an ear infection.
