i am 38 weeks pregnant and i am having diarrhea one day and consipation the next. could this be a sign that labor will be here soon.

Not likely: Of course labor will be "soon" - over the next 2-3 weeks only. But your bowel changes are not a good sign of labor happening over the next few days. However, some women due experience diarrhea/ bowel changes with labor. Still you can't count on this.

i'm 21 weeks pregnant and have been having back pains and ligament pains. normal? and also a few days had loose stools but it gone now.

Normal...: With a baby growing and hormones changing, you may have many symptoms that you didn't realize were part of being pregnant.  It is normal to have some mild achy back pain and some pain in stretching ligaments.  If you have any acute or severe pain, contact your OB.  Stool patterns can change also.  Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids and eating a healthy high fiber diet.  Take care.

Can vary with diet: Stool consistency cn vary with diet ntake, including prenatal supplements, sress, hormones, etc. Mention to your ob. Other GI causes may exist.

Jaundice: Yellow discoloration of the skin is worrisome for a problem in the liver. Infection, blockages in the biliary tract can do this among many other conditions. Your daughter needs to be seen by a physician as soon as possible

Obgyn evaluation: Since you know you are 3 cm that tells me that you have been evaluated by a doctor recently. If your cramps progress to contractions then you should be evaluated again for preterm labor. Stay well hydrated while dealing with the loose stools. If you think you are in labor go to labor and delivery.

Probably not: Please call your OB to discuss as your OB knows you, could be a viral infection  and common to get nausea, ht burn at the end which there are otc meds u can take for this, let your OB decide but i rec seeing your OB before the weekend.

Go to Hospital: When you are having loose stools and cramping in pregnancy, it is important to make sure that your baby is Ok and that you are not dilating. Watch for baby movements and go right away to the hospital birthing center. All will be well. It is better to be safe.

Diarrhea after meals: Loose stools after meals may be due to lactose intolerance, which is more common after 30.  Avoid milk or milk products (foods containing lactose) as a trial, but if loose stools persist, as your physician for medication.  Hemorrhoids are common at 34 weeks of pregnancy, as the weight of the fetus obstructs hemorrhoidal veins, causing local clots. Consult your OB for treatment.

i'm almost 34 weeks pregnant with my 5th kid. i have been getting back pain, head aches and loose stools. are these signs of labor coming soon?

Maybe: Loose stools can cause contractions.  The headache isn't likely related to labor.  It could just be a headache, unless you have an elevated blood pressure.  If the back pain is constant, its less likely labor.  If every few minutes lasting 30-60 seconds its more likely contractions.  The only way to know for sure is call your OB and see if they want you to get on a fetal monitor.
