Could mean more: Brown discharge is usually old blood. A mucusy discharge that is mixed with a brown discharge can be the mucus plug coming out. 2 important points: first, you are under 37wks or preterm &amp; preterm labor needs to be ruled-out. Second, if the discharge is more watery, an OB doc needs to make sure you didn't break your water, so you should call your OB and been evaluated at your hospital.

Pressure: 35 wks.: At 35 weeks of pregnancy, especially if it is your first, there is little room and your abdominal muscles are stretched, and the baby is moving actively.  This is generally not caused by early labor. If the timing of the "tightness" is regular and every 4-6 minutes, you should be checked by your OB for early labor. If not, just wait: true labor is not subtle and you will know when it happens !

Reasons to seek help: Cramps + 35 weeks pregnancy might indicate preterm labor. Pain and/or hardening of the uterus should be reasons to immediately contact OB provider and prepare to go to labor and delivery. Even babies at that age might have some problems of prematurity, so an expectant couple should act quickly to contact OB about evaluation with exam, monitoring of fetus and mom. 911 is option if alone in pain.

Myths: No. It is not safe.  The last thing that develops well is the lungs.  Once the lungs are mature enough to survive they begin to leak an enzyme that helps the pregnant uterus to begin labor. Please let this happen naturally.

Sometimes: Having sex, and having orgasms can definitely make one contract. Typically those contractions induced by intercourse are short lived, but if they persist or get stronger - then you should call your doctor and have an exam.In general, intercourse is safe for most uncomplicated pregnancies. Just watch to see if the contractions don't resolve on their own.

i'm 35 weeks pregnant with twins. was having pretty strong contractions sitting in my chair so i went and laid down and they stopped. babies moved all night long which they don't typically do. am i getting closer to labor?
