Stop!: Your 24 day Advocare challenge has likely caused an electrolyte imbalance and unmasked a cardiac arrhythmia.  I urge you to stop, get a blood sample for potassium and magnesium, and an EKG or 24 hour Holter exam. It could be a coincidence, but your heart still needs a check up regardless.

Doesn't look: Nutritionally sound for sustained weight loss and too low calorie for Phentermine so do not recommend .

Check the label: Check the label for vitamin K (don't supplement with vitamin K while on warfarin), and ask your doctor who is prescribing the warfarin.

Be aware: I would review the entire spectrum of supplements utilized in the 24 day challenge with your cardiologist, as the cleanse phase may involve weak diuretics that may lower your potassium levels - which is bad in the case of long QT syndromes.  Also the energy supplements may contain rather high doses of caffeine which can also be suboptimal with long QT syndromes.

Don't do it: This is not a healthy way to get in shape even if you were not taking those other medications.

Get healthy by exercising and eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables and low in carbohydrates.

Diet products: Advocare diet program is not for everyone--did you check with your doctor before starting ? to see if it was safe for you?-some of the bowel cleansing products can be harsh on your system. giving you bowel cramps with referred pain to your back.  I do think that a well thought out diet program is very helpful for your weight management , but you should check with your  doctor for the right program

L Glutamine: portion of program ( Advocare 24 day challenge) may need to be avoided. The combination of CNS stimulants (Glutamate, Lexapro (escitalopram) and Vyvanse ) may result in dangerous side effects like convulsive seizures. I would carefully review this with your doctor first.

advocare 24 day challenge and a fatty liver? i've lost 19 lbs in 6 weeks. too much? i'm having pain in my side and its progressively got worse.

Could be Gallbladder: Gallbladder disease is common in people who lose a lot of weight.  See your local doctor about getting that worked up.  Operation is frequently helpful.

will the advocare 24 day challenge interfere with the effectiveness of my hormonal birth control pills?

Accepted Answer

Ask: That's a better question for whomever is selling you this product.  There are herbs and supplements that can effect the efficacy of birth control pills, and I'm not sure what's in advocare's products.  To be safe, use condoms or switch to something more reliable like an IUD.
