Music therapy
Music therapy for children with autism spectrum disorders is based on the idea that the part of the brain that communicates through music is different from the parts that communicate through speech. Perhaps music is a way to better communicate with children with autism, and perhaps, in turn, the process of musical improvisation may help people with autism to develop communicative skills that extend beyond music, and may improve capacity for social interaction.
