Alternative medicine is the practice of healing that does not fall into the realm of conventional allopathic medicine. Many think it is usually based on cultural or historical traditions rather than scientific data. However, only recently is science catching up with history. For example, acupuncture meridians have finally been discovered by science. Types of alternative medicine include herbalism, homeopathy, and acupuncture.
