Retinal pigmentation
Retinal pigmentation is the color a doctor sees when looking at the inside of the eyeball. Pigmentation is due to the retinal pigment epithelium, a layer of the retina that nourishes and cares for the retina. In some eye diseases, there are problems with this pigmented layer of cells. Albinos (persons without color pigment) do not have retinal pigmentation.
