Hearing voices
"hearing voices" in the absence of actual people talking is referred to as an auditory hallucination. There is a large number of potential medical and/or psychological causes for such an experience. In some cases such as during transition from awake to sleeping (or vice versa), this can occur which, in the absence of contributory medical/psychological causes, is normal.
