When it comes to childcare there are a variety of options, including daycare centers, babysitters, nannies, and home daycare. Advantages of home daycare compared to daycare centers often include smaller group size than in daycare centers, a homelike environment that is comforting and reassuring, kids often have a single, consistent caregiver, and the children may be exposed to fewer illnesses. Disadvantages of home daycare include licensing requirements in some states are less rigid for home daycares than they are for childcare centers. Home daycare providers often have little or no background in early childhood education and development. Home daycare may provides no backup_if your provider gets sick. And, there may be no supervision of the provider.
