Atrophic scars
An atrophic scar is a condition in which a scar is depressed (sunken) into the skin, like a pit on the surface of the skin. A hypertrophic scar, on the other hand, is a scar that is thicker or bigger than it should be, and is a little higher than the surrounding skin.
