Persistent upper abdominal pain
Persistent upper abdominal pain is a symptom in which a person's pain doesn't come and go, but instead is present all the time. The pain can be mild, moderate, or severe, but its constant presence usually means there is an ongoing medical problem. The upper abdomen is below the ribs and above the belly button.
