Open repair of clavicle fracture
Fracture of the clavicle, or collarbone , is a very common fracture. A majority of these fractures can be treated closed, or non operatively. When the fracture is significantly displaced or comminuted ( in multiple pieces) , or if the bone is through the skin, the bone may be fixed with plate and screws or a rod through the bone and across the fracture. Rare to treat this fractures open in children.
