Cryoglobulinemia is a condition in which a person's blood contains a large amount of a specific type of protein called cryoglobulins. This type of protein can clump up (become insoluble in blood) at reduced temperatures. These insoluble proteins can then block small blood vessels and cause clinical symptoms. Patients with multiple myeloma or hepatitis c can develop cryoglobulinemia.
