Aortic coarctation
Aortic coarctation is a narrowing of the aorta, the main artery that delivers blood to your body. The "coarct" area is often just after the branch point of the arm and head vessels. As such, the head and arms have a high BP and the abdomen and kidneys are getting a lower bp. The kidney's do what they can to get better pressures by holding on to salts ( sodium) thus worsening the high bp.
