If you’ve used HealthTap, you know how easy and convenient it is when you need to see a doctor right away.

But Urgent Care is just part of the big healthcare picture. Ongoing Primary Care is essential in preventing and managing ongoing health conditions, managing prescription medication, and is shown to lower medical costs overall.

That’s why we’ve introduced HealthTap Primary Care.

Starting today, HealthTap members in select states can choose their doctor and schedule regular appointments. You’ll get to know your HealthTap Primary Care doctor over time as they help you manage any ongoing health concerns, write and manage prescriptions, and order lab work or refer you to specialists when necessary. Think of it like a traditional family doctor relationship, but conveniently online.

HealthTap Primary Care will be available to the rest of the U.S. by mid-2021.

“Convenient access to great Primary Care prevents medical emergencies and reduces complications from treatable diseases,” said Dr. Geoffrey Rutledge, HealthTap’s Chief Medical Officer.

To get started, visit HealthTap.com or open your Android or iOS app. Once you’re logged in, make sure you’re subscribed to HealthTap Prime.

As a HealthTap Prime member, you’ll pay a $15 per month fee, which gives you virtual Primary Care doctor visits and virtual Urgent Care visits for $44 each. By comparison, seeing a primary care doctor in-person without insurance ranges from $70 to $300 depending on location and doctor.

If you’re among the 43.4% of U.S. adults — more than 100 million people — who have no health insurance or are inadequately insured, that’s a huge cost savings.

Once you’re signed up, you’ll get access to affordable, high-quality virtual primary care, which includes:

  • Wellness and preventive health advice.
  • Evaluation and treatment of acute conditions.
  • Ongoing management of chronic conditions like hypertension and diabetes.

Head over to HealthTap.com or your HealthTap app to get started today.
