Trichinellosis (trichinosis)can be transmitted to humans from eating under- cooked meat from animals infected a roundworm parasite called Trichinella. A Trichinella antibody test or muscle biopsy to look for larvae may be used for diagnosis. Sometimes it may resolve w/o tx but antiparasitic meds like albendazole or mebendazole may be needed.
