Yes! Our online doctors can prescribe most medications, and will help you keep costs low by prescribing generics when possible. After your doctor's visit, we'll give you an option to send your online prescription to any local retail or mail order pharmacy of your preference. We'll even show you the price of those medications at different pharmacies and give you a coupon to save up to 75% off the cash price of those drugs. We also offer text messaging, so you can connect with your primary care provider (PCP) about refills from the comfort of your home, after you have established care with your PCP. Certain medications we can't prescribe include controlled substances and psychiatric medications, such as Xanax, Adderall, Ativan, Zyprexa, etc.

Yes! Our online doctors are U.S. Board Certified with verified medical licenses and a professional reputation that we personally research and find in good standing within the medical community. They exhibit expertise and leadership in their field. We also only present doctors who have a beloved bedside manner and maintain stellar patient reviews. We want you to have the best telehealth experience possible. Our philosophy is that if we wouldn't want our family members seeing our doctors, we wouldn't want you to either!

Yes! Our online doctors can order tests at a lab near you, where you can book a lab appointment to get tested. You'll pay the lab with cash or insurance when you arrive. When the results are ready and available for your HealthTap doctor to review, we'll send you a notification so you can discuss the results with your doctor and create a plan.

Yes! Our online doctors can recommend specialist or in-person care whenever it is clinically appropriate. You can then book an appointment with a specialist near you of your choice. We make it easy for you to share a copy of your medical records on HealthTap with other providers so they can easily pick up where we left off! But, don't worry, our privacy policy ensures your protected health information is transmitted appropriately. If you need in-person paperwork to use your insurance to get a specialist referral, just share a copy of your HealthTap visit with your in-person doctor to ask for the referral forms you want.

Yes! We accept hundreds of out-of-network insurance plans around the country, plus in-network Medicare, to pay for your telehealth doctor's visit fees (see the full list). We even accept almost all HSA/FSA cards. At this time, most insurance companies do not pay for the membership subscription — just the telehealth visits! We currently do not accept Medicaid.

We accept most credit, debit, HSA/FSA cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, JCB, Diners, Maestro, UnionPay), PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay. We do not, however, accept any prepaid cards to pay for your membership subscription.

Yes! Our online doctors can treat most conditions that don't require ongoing specialist care, controlled medications, or other special drugs or treatments. Some examples of what we treat include: Influenza, common cold, COVID-19, asthma and allergies, headaches, diabetes, hypertension, sinusitis, high cholesterol, arthritis, monkeypox, erectile dysfunction, back pain, hypothyroidism, sleep disorders, mild anxiety, cellulitis, and more. Yes! Our doctors will include a school or work note for your place of employment whenever you request it and if it's clinically appropriate. You can then download a PDF copy or print the note from your computer to share with whomever you'd like.

HealthTap doctors do not currently complete complex forms — such as disability forms, competency assessments, special needs forms, medical certificates, or FMLA paperwork. Complex forms are better suited to in-person care with your in-person primary care doctor or a specialist.

As a patient, you can still benefit from access to a responsive, trusted HealthTap online doctor — even if you already have a doctor near you that you see in person! A HealthTap doctor is usually more affordable and convenient for most issues. And for the few occasions where you need to see someone in person, you can share your online medical records with your local physicians to pick up where we left off!
