Klonopin (clonazepam) and trazodone for sleep safe?

Yes. It is a safe combination. I can think of a number of clinical scenarios where this would be very appropriate and I have quite a few patients on this combination.
Klonopin/Trazodone. Depends on the dose, since both have sedating effect. Consult your doctor.

Maybe. If your insomnia is the product of a mania from bipolar disorder, then the medication combination you list is appropriate. However, if you are still having vivid dreams on that combination you need to talk to your doctor about tweaking it. In my experience, vivid dreams can be either a side effect of trazodone or from continued mood problem (i.e. Mania). Read more...

Dr just added 25 mg of trazadone for sleep...does this make sense rather than add ambien (zolpidem) or go up on klonopin?

Yes. Trazodone is a an antidepressant which is often added at bedtime for it's sedating effect to help insomnia. It is non-addicting, therefore preferred for longer term use. The 25 mg dose is low and reasonable. Your mood may also improve. Hope this helps. Read more...
