I had roundworm as kid, was it because I went barefoot, played in uncovered sandbox, or kissed my mouser cat?

In brief: No

You get hookworms (not roundworms) from going barefoot in a sandbox or elsewhere that's infested.
You'd don't get worms from your cat (they're species specific). You get round worms from eating contaminated food. Kids put their hands in their mouth and don't always wash their hands before eating so they're especially susceptible.

In brief: Who knows at this pt

Transmission of round worms in humans depends on the specific type.
Trichinosis can occur from eating undercooked pork. Ascaris may be transmitted by touching feces (dogs/ cats/ poor sanitation). Pin worm can be transmitted when scratching the anus & touching others. Hookworms, strongyloides & whipworm may penetrate the skin when walking barefoot. Not sure type of roundworm you had or cause.
