People with arthritis can also have carpal tunnel, but not everybody with hand wrist arthritis ge carpal tunnel. The reverse is also true i.e. Not everyone with carpal tunnel also has arthritis. Depending on your symptoms and examination we can usually differentiate. Do you have numbness in the first 3 1/2 fingers - that suggests carpal tunnel.
