In brief: Bronchitis

Your infection may be viral but could also be caused by a bacteria that was not adequately treated by amoxicillin.
If your symptoms persist, you should have your md evaluate this further. There are also other medications that could help your symptoms as well.

In brief: Mucus

No after 2 1/2 weeks you probably have a sinus infection and you should be treated with antibiotics.
Normally if sinuses are producing yellow mucus for more than10 days we treat it as a sinus infection and antibiotics are indicated.
