Signs and Symptoms
Generally signs and symptoms are the initial determinants.
, oily stools, pain in the upper right quadrant that may radiate to the right shoulder blade, and in serious blockages jaundice
. The pain can be brought on after a fatty meal. Ultrasound and other imaging
can identify stones and other anomalies. If confirmed, generally the gallbladder is removed laparoscopically.
