Dryness of the skin or seborrheic dermatitis is the most likely condition causing your problem. There are many treatments for this but i would advise seeing a dermatologist for this.
Other problems associated with this are excessive dandruff and dryness of the scalp. Lubrication of the rim of your ear with mineral oil and a good shampoo will probably be adequate.
