In brief: Yes
A chlamydia can cause scarring of the fallopian tubes and that can occur within a few days to even a few weeks after an infection.
It is not fully predictable. And scarring of the fallopian tubes does not always occur after an infection. Even if both fallopian became damaged and even blocked, that does not mean you can't become pregnant, but it does require ivf with a fertility specialist.

In brief: Infertile&chlamydia
Chlamydia can cause extensive tubal damage depending upon the length of time that you have the infection.
Unfortunately it frequently presents in women without symptoms, and should be checked for in any woman, at an annual exam, who has had multiple partners especially if they don't use barrier contraception. The organism is sensitive to antibiotic therapy, and should be treated.
