In brief: Both are possible
A 17 year old can get both.
A 17 year old may get AML (non hodgkin's lymphoma), but he or she may also get hodgkin's lymphoma.

In brief: Yes, but rare
Average age at diagnosis of non-hodgkin lymphoma occurs in people during 6th decade of life, 35+% of cases between 35-64 yrs, ~15% ocurring in people less than 35 yrs, less than 5% in younger than 20 yrs-old.
So, a 17 y/o may have nhl, but much less likely compare to a 77 y/o person.. If you have concerns, please consult your doc... Good luck.
