In brief: No, but..

Psychological stress does not directly cause or directly related to the development of cancer.
However, researchers have suggested that psychological factors may affect cancer progression (increase in tumor size or spread of cancer in the body) in patients who have the disease http://www.Cancer.Gov/cancertopics/factsheet/risk/stress.

In brief: Stress AND CANCER

Stress itself does not directly cause cancer.
But having said that stress does damage the immune system which is normally there to protect us.So theorotically if your immune system is affected by stress you lose some of the natural defence we have to prevent the duplication and multiplication of abnormal cellsand you lose that defence and more prone to infections and cancer.Thats the theory i have.
