Does bells palsy ever get better?

Yes. Most people with bell's palsy will regain normal facial movement. This may take weeks or months however. Some people will only regain some movement and a few will remain completely paralyzed.
Mostly. This is a palsy of one side of the face from the swollen facial nerve in its narrow exit canal through the skull. In most cases it will recover over a six month interval. A certain percentage will have long term weakness, and a very small group don't recover much at all. You should check with your family doctor for this who can direct your care.
