In brief: Not good.

If a child has an inflammatory knee condition, caused by jia, there are very effective treatments available with very high success rates, some used alone, and some in combinations.
I would consider it child abuse not to see a rheumatologist or the hard to find, pediatric rheumatologist. Forget the herbs and spices! this not the 3rd world.

In brief: Most information

And use of ayurveda is mostly india and sri lanka.
Main options for osteoarthritis ware diet, moderate exercise, avoid fried oily spicy foods. Apply medicated oils, guggul which is a herb, caster oil, root of caster plant, bark and roots of deodar tree, and other roots. The problem of ayurveda medicine even in india is that 60% of therapies tested were high in lead, mercury and arsenic. Not good.

In brief: Alternative medicine

Ayurvedic medications that have been evaluated by the FDA for safety and purity would be used in conjunction with standard treatments for juvenile arthritis.
The anti-inflammatory effects are small compared with medications such as ibuprofen.
