In brief: A few days

For routine, uneventful cataract surgery most patients are back to their "normal" routine within a few days.
Several factors affect how long it takes to recover, i.e., the age of the patient, overall health of the patient and whether there are other co-morbidities such as uncontrolled diabetes, glaucoma, or medications that can present a problem during surgery.

In brief: Recovery

Depending on pre-op risks & any intra-operative complications/issues, most patients recover quickly: good vision within 1 wk; no bending, lifting, straining 5-7ds; drops for about 1 month; glasses if needed given in about 2-4wks (or after all steroids stopped); 10-20% risk need laser after 1st surgery (not painful to eye).

In brief: A few days

You will be back on your feet the same day but might be a little tired from the sedation you received.
This is usually gone by the next day. Your eye and vision usually take several days to a few weeks to heal and stabilize.

In brief: Recovery time

Recovery time after cataract surgery depends on procedure performed.
If modern surgery is performed successfully, you should significant improvement in vision in 1-2 days and completely healed by 1-2 weeks. Most surgeon wait until 1 month postoperatively for new glasses check since the prescription can fluctuate some early on.
