In brief: Yes & No

Hyperinflated lungs are larger but that's not good.
Rather than being elastic, the lungs are more rigid and stretched out which makes them less efficient and less able to clear out stale air and contaminants. This is often seen in COPD. So, it's not like they're really larger in that there's more surface area for gas exchange.
