In brief: CT, EUS, MRI, biopsy

This can be difficult to diagnose, but the most common methods are by a ct or MRI scan.
Also endoscopic ultrasound (eus) can be used to obtain a sample of the tissue (a biopsy).

Pathology

In brief: Imagiing & tissue

Pancreatic cancers do not produce specific symptoms, if the diagnosis is considered, ct and ultrasound of the abdomen would be the initial tests.
If a mass is detected, it may be sampled by fine needle aspiration and examination of the material by a pathologist. It may require opening the abdomen or laproscopy to confirm the diagnosis. There are no good blood tests for the disease.
