Also called mild form of scarlet fever, is a disease caused by infection with group a streptococci (same bacteria that causes strep throat).
Is most common in 4-8 year olds. Causes sore throat, fever, rash, red tongue. Course is less than 1 week. Treatment is 10 day course of penicillin or erythromycin.
