In brief: Treat the cause

The best way to 'cure' neuropathy is to target the cause.
Only 60-70% of patients with neuropathy have a known cause, any many are irreversible. However, controlling the underlying medical condition causing neuropathy can improve or delay the progression of neuropathy. For example: control diabetes, treat thyroid problems, treat rheumatoid arthritis, avoid alcohol, take a b complex vitamin.

In brief: Yes - need diagnosis

Diagnosis is important and etiology is important.
If it is due to vitamin deficiency this needs to be treated. This can cure that neuropathy. It can be due to diabetes, cancer medications, inflammatory diseases, etc and as much as is possible these need to be treated and can be very helpful but may but cure it. Medications like gabapentin, pregabalin, duloxetine can help. Evaluation yes!
