I'm a 24 year old female with high blood pressure. Should my doctor be testing me for pregnancy when doing my routine blood test?

In brief: Pregnancy

High blood pressure is not common in very early pregnancy.
Unless you have missed your period or have any other indications that you might be pregnant, testing for pregnancy might not be indicated. Discuss with your pcp or ob.

I agree. The doctor does not have magical powers and cannot read your mind. A relationship with a physician is about communication and trust. If you need to be tested you must bring it up if there is no other obvious sign that the doctor could see.
