In brief: Psychotherapy

Address these concerns with you psychiatrist.
Additionally, if you're not already, try individual psychotherapy to explore your depression. For yourself, it's important to keep routine, focus more on positive events (however small they might seem to you); take time to take care of you and your own needs.

Both therapy and medications help depression and often in different and complementary ways. If you're well enough to ask this question, you're well enough to engage in helpful therapy.

In brief: See your doctor

Treatment can be very effective, but often the dose is too low or the trial not long enough.
If the med dose has been maxed over 4 weeks and partial response, then a new drug to augment the effect maybe effective. If no respsonse, change drugs. If severe or suicidal, some need electroconvulsive treatment(ect).

In brief: Antidepressants

Ask your doctor. It is possible that all you need may just be an adjustment to the dosage of your medication.
Perhaps, another antidepressant may be more effective for you. Are you also in therapy?
