In brief: Doubtful

You should talk to your doctor about these concerns.
However, in psychiatry no one gets paid more for one diagnosis over another. A visit is a visit, no matter what the diagnosis.

In brief: Ask

Maybe you should have a discussion with your dr. About his agenda and yours, relative to your treatment plan.
If you are concerned that he or she is more interested in making money, compared to treating you and your problems, that seems like a set up for failure. And patients can often have more than one condition.

If insurance is involved, insurance companies are more apt to pay for some diagnoses than others, and doctors sometime will emphasize a reimburseable diagnoses over one that isn't if both are present.
