Can kids with mild autism perform well in school?

They often can. Autism spectrum disorders are complex in terms of cognitive functioning., language, learning disorders, memory, motor and sensory disorders, executive functions, and even rarer neuropsychological factors. Even children labeled "mild" can be very different. Comprehensive neuropsychological assessment to assess these skills can be expensive, but can zero in on learning strategies and needs.
Autism education. Education options will depend on the autistic child's level of functioning, social skills, and any behavioral or sensory issues they might have. 3 options are commonly available: autism specific/special needs school; mainstreaming with autism support classes; full mainstreaming with/without teacher's aide. Understanding the unique challenges and collaboration with care professionals are essential.
