Congestion with no runny nose?

How long? If it is a chronic problem , there are many potential causes but hay fever being the most common. Sometimes the nose may start running after reduction of the nasal congestion. Claritin may dry up the nose but does nothing for decongestion. Claritin-d may be a better bet although it may also keep you awake at night. See an allergist if this problem continues.

Cool mist humidifers may also help. Zyrtec (cetirizine) is approved for 6 months and older if an allergic component is suspected. Read more...

Neither . The runny nose may be another stage of the process .I generally look at better or wore as a gauge you can tell from a distance. Infants are best when playful, maintaining a normal pattern of feeds, sleep and play. They are off when they are gloomy, off their feeds & not sleeping. If your kid is playful i would not spend time worrying about the process. Read more...
Depends. Both are symptoms of a common cold and can appear at different times, but do not mean it is getting worse. However, if the symptoms are lasting more than 7-10 days or there are additional symptoms including, but not limited to such as fever, difficulty breathing, wheezing , i would recommend seeing a pediatrician.
