Can sore throat, ears and gland be from goiter?

Possible resistance. Strep germs causing sore throat are often resistant to Clarithromycin and other antibiotics of the same class. There are other less common germs that also cause throat infections, and are almost always resistant to this drug class. Of course, viruses cause sore throat more often than bacteria like strep. Could be viral. There are many viral causes for sore throat and the other symptoms you dxcribe and these would not respond to antibiotics. My glands behind my ear are up and painful. I have the start of a sore throat. I always have glands up in my neck never behind my ear. Why now?
