How worried should I be about campylobacter infection after my brother has been sick?

Caution advised. Campylobacter is and infection causing diarrhea, which is often bloody. It is commonly found in uncooked foods such as poultry. It is also spread through a fecal/oral route from human to human, so it can be prevented with good hand washing. It is self-limited, but without treatment can last up to two weeks. Treatment with certain antibiotics can shorten the course of the disease.
