In brief: Pain & Fever

Appendicitis can present in many different ways (and many other conditions can present like appendicitis).
The classic presentation of appendicitis is abdominal pain starting around the navel, moving to the right lower quadrant. This is often accompanied by a low grade fever (9-101f) +/- nausea or vomiting. Patients may be constipated or have diarrhea but bowel movements don't relieve the pain.

In brief: Nonspecific

Classic symptoms are pain that starts at the belly button and then moves to the right lower abdomen, and loss of appetite, present for less than 24 hours.
Many patients have symptoms that differ somewhat from these. There are also other conditions that can mimic apppendicitis. Imaging like ct scans can help make the correct diagnosis.
