What's the initial management of a patient that has just contracted HIV within the past 3-5 days? What's the prognosis of such "early" detection?

In brief: Prognosis good
Some semantics: contracting hiv, means that one has been exposed to the virus, generally through blood exchange, sexual activity with HIV infected person, IV drug use.
..The test for HIV does not become + for weeks after exposure. Perhaps you mean that a DX of aids was made a few days ago. Either way, early detection makes it very treatable and today likely curable. Infectious disease doc is best.
