What are the good outcomes and bad outcomes of taking birth control? I hear many different things but I need to hear it from a doctor.

In brief: Avoiding pregnancy
Birth control is obviously the main effect.
On the positive, some women have improvements in mood swings as well as lighter, regular and less painful periods. Acne can be improved, as well. However, for women with a tendency toward blood clots, those are more likely. Migraine headache can be brought out or worsened, and some can actually have worsening of certain types of mood disorders.
