I went to doctors today for UTI symptoms ketones in urine does this mean UTI and blood in urine?

Ketones could mean s. In the evaluation of a urinalysis there are multiple different components to be evaluated. The ones most associated with a urinary tract infection would be positive nitrates and wbcs greater than 5 with epithelial cells less than 5. Blood in the urinalysis may also indicate that there is an infection but it needs to be evaluated altogether as opposed to in isolation, the ketones could mean severa.
UTI. Uti symptoms + blood and ketones are all typical of a uti. Once you've been treated, all 3 of those should disappear.

Have pain every time I urinate, test negative for infections. I have UTI symptoms, flank pain, history of kidney stones but no blood in urine, help?!

May still be a UTI. Usually, pain on urination (dysuria) is a symptom of a UTI from which the offending bacteria can be grown from the urine. Less commonly dysuria can occur from the irritation of passing a kidney stone alone (i.e. Not a uti). In other situations, the laboratory can't isolate the microbe because it's too difficult to grow in culture (e.g. Chlamydia)- in that case, you may still actually have a uti. Read more...

Doc said I had blood in urine and had symptoms of uti. Culture was normal. Does that mean blood is gone or does the culture not measure blood in urine?

Hematuria. Hi, urine culture is designed to detect bacteria in urine and confirm the infection that analysis of urine is showing. Urine infection can cause blood in urine and analysis of urine could detect that, once infection is treated then the blood won't show in urine analysis. If blood in urine persists then other tests like a Cystocopy or CT Urogram should be done to find out the cause.good luck. Read more...
Urinalysis. It is difficult to place meaning on this without knowing how the urine was collected. If it was not with a clean midstream catch it may be that the blood came from the vagina rather than the bladder. The fact that the culture was negative has nothing to do with the presence or absence of blood since it does not measure this, Read more...
UTI. Blood in urine has many causes, one of them is UTI. The culture can sometimes be negative, however if you still have symptoms, then a second sample of urine should be submitted for culture. If the doctor found blood in urine, but the urine culture was normal, would you rule out bladder infection and uti?

Hematuria. You need to see a urologist (u). Hematuria (h) is a symptom, not a diagnosis. It could be coming from your kidney, or bladder. You need to have various tests to diagnose the cause. A renal ultrasound, an intravenous pyelogram and if these do not give you the cause, a cystoscopy where the urologist looks at your bladder. If the u finds no cause for the h, see a nephrologist as you may have a gn. Read more...

I'm 13 days post-op from sleeve gastrectomy. Have UTI symptoms. Urine test neg but ketone level was 15 & flagged with an A. Is this ketoacidosis?

Ketosis. Most likely this is ketosis, but not ketoacidosis. Ketoacidosis occurs in people with type 1 diabetes and no insulin production. Ketosis occurs in all of us if we do not eat much, especially if we don't eat carbs. People on low carb diets have ketosis all the time. Talk to your doctor, as you need to get the UTI symptoms checked out anyway. Read more...
