While thawing, it can be used but then has a shelf life like that of fresh breast milk - essentially it must be used within the next 24 hours or so.

Breast milk for storage must stay frozen.
With a power outage, the duration of outage will determine how warm the freezer gets and thus how much milk thaws. Milk on the interior of the freezer will stay frozen longest. If you find liquid milk or slushiness in the container, the milk needs to be used within 24 hours or discarded.
