Is augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) more effective than amoxillin in treating staph?

See below. Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) is Amoxicillin plus clavulonic acid which makes Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) more effective against bacteria that are resistant to amoxicillin. Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) is also more effective in skin infections, neihter is effective against methacillin resistant staph aureus (mrsa).
