In brief: Surprisingly good
Most patients are very pleasantly surprised with the recovery after rhinoplasty.
The most uncomfortable aspect is probably the limited breathing the through the nose the first week after surgery, but the pain is usually far less than what patients anticipate.

In brief: Usually not too bad
Rhinoplasty is almost always done as an outpatient.
The pain is usually minor and after a week is usually minimal. It is rare to need nasal packing placed in the nose so you can usually breathe well after the surgery. Outside bandages come off in a week and bruising usually fades in 7-10 days. Most swelling is gone in a few weeks but it may take up to a year for all swelling to resolve.

In brief: Need more informatio
If asking about post-surgical course, rhinoplasty is usually only mildly uncomfortable.
Head elevation, proper cold compresses, and gentle surgery are mild-moderate on discomfort scale for most patients. Use of the latest platelet concentrates during rhinoplasty further lessens the discomfort. There are several form of rhinoplasty, some with more surgery for airway function. May increase recov.

In brief: Positive experience
A rhinoplasty blends your nose with your facial features.
Properly performed, there is barely any discomfort. A lovely nose does not stand out but is harmonious with the face. The top, sides and tip are sculpted to achieve a nose that is yours but improved. www.artofplasticsurgery.com.

In brief: Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty generally takes between 60-150 minutes, during which time the surgeon reshapes and often improves the function of the nose.
It can be performed under sedation or general anesthesia, and there is generally no significant pain during or after the surgery. Most patients complain of a stuffy nose for a week and bruising for 2 weeks. Most patients are back at work in 7-10 days.

In brief: Rhinoplasty is good!
This procedure is used to reshape the nose.
Most patients report their pain after septorhinoplasty to be easily managed by their pain meds. Most patients only need that medicine x 3-4 days. The large complaint is nasal congestion, swelling and stuffiness. Icing helps reduce swelling. Discuss with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon, he can give you more specific details.

In brief: Rhinoplasty Surgery
Like any surgery, there is a degree of pain and suffering involved that is part of the recovery process.
Rhinoplasty is generally performed as an outpatient and most people report a speedy recovery and are very satisfied with their results. Only your doctor can give you a more accurate answer about what to expect from your specific procedure.

In brief: Depends
Rhinoplasty can be done for many different reasons.
The pain would be greater if the nasal bones are broken and reset. If only cartilage reshaping is performed, discomfort should be mild.

In brief: Can't be that bad
Any surgery carries risk.
However, considering that it is consistently one of the top five most requested procedures, it cannot be that bad. Discuss the risks, alternatives, & benefits with a qualified surgeon.
