In brief: Possible

It's fascitis but usually symptoms occur to inside of foot arch near heel.
Cold be your lateral band or possible nerve entrapment . See your doctor.

In brief: Tendinitis

Or possibly muscle strain.
Either way should heal with rest supportive shoes and anti inflammatory. Best to have it checked out to confirm.

In brief: Maybe

The exact location is important for the diagnosis.
If it is the outside of the foot near the arch, this is an area associated with the 5th metatarsal. There is a large tendon that attaches here. It may be inflammed. If there was an injury, there may be a fracture. See a podiatrist.
