Wellbutrin (bupropion) for anxiety and pms?

No. Wellbutrin (bupropion) can be helpful for major depression, particularly melancholic, down in the dumps depression. Wellbutrin (bupropion) is stimulating, and at best doesn't affect anxiety, but can exacerbate anxiety. For premenstrual dysporic disorder (pdd), ssris, like zoloft, celexa, and Prozac that work through serotonin can alleviate symptoms, but wellbutrin (bupropion) and works through Dopamine and doesn't help with pdd.
Not ideal. There are better choices for anxiety and pms group of symptoms. Celexa, lexapro, (escitalopram) viibryd--likely more helpful. Also consulting an obgyn to check hormonal levels can be helpful as well. There is a correlation between the estrogen and serotonin levels. They both go down before the period starts, hence, the emotional discomfort. Good luck!

A serum HCG might. detect pregnancy a few days sooner than a urine HCG, but, by the time you get to a doctor to have it drawn and then wait for the results, you might as well do a home urine pregnancy test. If you do the test right after you wake up (when the urine is most concentrated) it's quite accurate. You can do the test as soon as 7 days from today. Read more...

Not a good idea. A couple of things: -wellbutrin (bupropion) is not normally first-line medication for anxiety because it acts on Dopamine receptors vs. Ssris, which are first line as they affect serotonin, a neurotransmitter thought to be helpful in decreasing anxiety -most psychiatric medication, including wellbutrin (bupropion) are metabolized by liver as is alcohol, so can be bad for liver -alcohol can lead to rebound anxiety.
