Numb thumb forearm and oainful shoulder?

Nerve compression. My first concern would be a disk in your neck compressing nerve roots, specificantly c5-c6 but there are other things even carpal tunnel or a strain of the biceps tendon in the shoulder. Of course the shoulder and thumb could be completely unrelated. Check with a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist.
